Sister Judy Gomila, MSC, a FANTASTIC woman of merry vitality, clear-eyed intellience, and deeply good strength, was one of the facilitators. She ended the conference with a story. I'll try to do it justice.
Judy lives in New Orleans in a community of ten sisters. Each morning for breakfast, they make biscuits. The tubes of eight don't work for them: one tube would make too few and two tubes would make too many. So they buy bags of Mary B's frozen biscuits and use just what they need.
One morning the biscuits were unusually delicious - higher and lighter than before. The sisters were puzzled - these were the same Mary B biscuits they'd been baking for years - until the sister who had made breakfast told them, "Oh, THIS time I read the directions! And the directions say, 'For the biscuits to rise, they must touch each other.'"
God's word on a biscuit bag. Thanks, Judy!
